Embracing Change

When I was fourteen, my dad accepted a new job. It was overseas, in a place I'd never even heard of... Singapore (I remember thinking "umm... do we have to live in a grass hut?").  Being a creature of comfort, and liking the way things were, I rather thought my world was going to end. And man oh man, did I have an attitude about it! It took me about six months to realize that, while I really missed my friends back in Boise, ID... I was being an idiot.

Looking back, that move was one of the best things that ever happened to me.  Not only was I able to have the opportunity to live in a different country, but God taught me a lot about trusting Him, and slowly I learned to embrace change instead of running madly away from it.
Thank goodness. Because the last thirteen years have been a roller coaster of change!  Since that move, I have never lived in the same place for longer than two years. I came to California for college, moved in and out of the dorms every year, moved to Boise for a brief 3 months, moved back to California, and lived in several different apartments with eighteen different roommates (!!!) before settling down with my favorite roommate of all: Andrew =)

Now, after two years of marriage, life is about to change again. Andrew and I have been praying ever since we were engaged, that the Lord would allow us to move closer to family. Since he is from Texas (y'all) and my family is in Boise, there wasn't much to keep us in California.  This spring, Andrew applied to Boise State University so he could use his GI Bill to finally go to school.  And he was accepted! So in the last few months we've been saying our goodbyes to our favorite places in LA and the people we love so much.

Not only will our location change, but there will be some changes with my business as well! Since I'll be marketing in a brand new area, I've decided to use the knowledge I've gleaned over the last few years to make a smooth transition.  One of the things I've decided to change is how I've set up my website and blog... so keep your eyes peeled for the new design that will hit, well.... whenever I find time after the move!

In the meantime, here is a preview of the newborn session I did with my dear friend Steph, and her little sweetheart, Maggie.
